Multinational oil companies invade our shores

Multinational oil companies invade our shores, take away American Jobs, sell our oil on the international market at huge profits (and don’t pay taxes.)

In this month’s “Sea Technology” Deepwater Operations Show Growth In US Gulf, International Regions: Greater Spending and Progressive Technologies Result In a Slew of New Rigs and Oil Discoveries”

some highlights:

“Hyundai Heavy Industries (Ulsan, South Korea) is building another $530 million deepwater drillship for Nobel Drilling Services (Houston, Texas). The yard initially contracted to fabricate two drillships with two options for two more of the same class.”

“Rowan Companies Inc. (Houston) recently exercised an option with Hyundai to build a third GustomMSC P10000 ultradeepwater drillship for delivery in late 2014. Competitor Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. (Houston) ordered a semi-submersible at Keppel AmFELS (Singapore) shipyard.”

“Drilling contractor Ensco plc (London, England) disclosed the initial charter for the Ensco 8506 to work in the Gulf of Mexico for Andarko Petroleum Corp. (The Woodlands, Texas) at a daily rate of $500,000, plus cost adjustments. The rig is scheduled for delivery from Keppel Corp. Ltd.’s (Singapore) shipyard.’”

“Andarko Petroleum and its partners [a number of Texas holding cos.]…are moving ahead with the Lucius field in portions of four blocks in the United States Exclusive Economic Zone on the Gulf of Mexico. The 23,000 ton Lucius truss spar floating production unit is under construction in Finland…”

While the operating companies are occasionally in Texas (BP and Royal Dutch Shell?) all of the high paying jobs and money goes elsewhere, as does a lot of the product. Who thought that the US of A would be colonized? There oughta be a law.

…Just sayin’
