Ocean Champion J. Nichols has coordinated an event on June 1 and 2 at the California Academy of Science that explores neuroscience and the ocean.
While the reception on June 1 and the daytime conference on June 2 are both booked to capacity, you can join in the human party at the California Academy Nightlife event on June 2 at 6:00 pm for an evening affair which includes music and dancing, sustainable seafood, and presentations about the ocean. The cost for the Cal Academy Nightlife is $12 for non-members and includes a “no-host bar” and a chance to wander through the entire Academy collection in an “after hours” setting.
The Blue Mind conference on June 2 includes a series of panels on the intersection of neuroscience and the ocean. The entire event will be webcast throughout the day.
I will be presenting at 9:20 am with Stanford Auditory Neuroscientist Shelly Batts on the influence of the sounds of the sea on human neurology and emotions.
While BlueMind is not specifically about marine bio-acoustics, it is nonetheless a fabulous opportunity to delve into our imaginal, emotional, and neurological connection with the Mother of all Life – the Sea.
I hope you can come.
